Reckoner Update August 2025

I have not done an update in a while. There are couple of reasons for that.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Life

The largest and most pressing reason is family life and needs. I have a camp out with my youngest as his final year in cub scouts. It was a good camp, but I lost a lot of sleep, vacation time, and energy for the month after this.

🧑‍🔬 Sync Experimentation

Another reason for the lack of progress was some ideas and experiments I was playing with. I went from being 100% sure I was using powersync to being certain that I should restart the work and investigation into setting up peer-to-peer synchronization. I have fallen across the gamut to just end up back that I need a self-hosted server to sync.

Not all has been in vain though. I learned a few things from researching the sync scheme for powersync. I have an idea on how to better setup sync. Currently I use date based querying to find changes. I will instead create a database table to handle synchronizing data

📥️ Incoming Change

I plan to finalize the sync updates. Pockebase will still be the primary supported synchronization method. I’ll probably have more to say when I have this complete.
